Inclusive Bio- and Crypto- Innovation: How Law and Technology Co-Evolve

INTRODUCTION

The legislative process still takes place mostly without input from those who understand the functionalities and execution of newly deployed technologies. How can scientists, engineers, venture capitalists, legislators, and lawyers better understand their co-evolution in the disconnected world of innovation? During a two-day MIT Independent Activities Period virtual event on January 27th and 28th, 2022, a panel group of scientists, engineers, lawyers, business people, as well as law and science students from all over the world, gathered to reflect on these questions but also address the general challenges of regulatory strategies using the specific examples of Bio- and Crypto- innovations.
